Eesti bänd "Metsatöll" kontsertturneel Saksamaal

Was heißt wohl die Überschrift? Auch wenn Estnische Sprache eine schwere Sprache ist, lässt sich diese Überschrift mit wenig Anstrengung übersetzen:

Vom 24.09. bis 31.10.2009 erfreuen drei nordische Metal-Bands das Publikum in 11 europäischen Ländern: Es sind die Bands "Ensiferum" und "Tracedawn" aus Finnland und "Metsatöll" aus Estland. In Deutschland treten die Musiker in Hamburg, Hamm, Köln, Jena und Karlsruhe auf.

Ich bin in Köln dabei, wer noch?! :-)

Poll - Bilder vom Drehort des Estnisch-Deutschen Films

Am Matsi rand (Matsi-Strand) bei Tõstamaa, Pärnumaa, wird ein estnisch-deutscher Film mit dem Titel "Poll" abgedreht. Dazu hat man eigens ein Herrenhaus auf Pfählen im Meer gebaut. Der Film sollte spätestens bis September fertig werden, da der Bau die Herbststürme an der Ostsee nicht überstehen sollte. Regie führt Chris Kraus.

Beethovenfest Bonn 2009 - Beethoven Symphonies IV

Annely Peebo (mezzosoprano) and Paavo Järvi (conductor) will be performing at the Beethovenfest 2009 in Bonn. The concert will be on sat 12.9.2009, at 8 p.m.

Ungewöhnlich: Estlands Politiker diskutieren Einfrierung der Bezüge

Angesichts der globalen Finanzkrise, die auch Estland voll erwischt hat, diskutieren estnische Politiker eine Kürzung ihrer Bezüge bzw. die Turnusmäßige Erhöhung diesmal auszusetzen. Sollte das Vorhaben Wirklichkeit werden, wäre dies vermutlich der erste Fall in der Moderne, in dem Politiker freiwillig auf zusätzliche Bezüge verzichten. Das Geld in Estlands Privathaushalten ist knapp geworden, und so möchten viele Politiker sich solidarisch zeigen.

Tallinn - Modern and Old Side by Side

Tallinn is known for its Old Town which is UNESCO World Heritage since 1997. The origins of the Baltic Sea metropolis date back to the 13th century, when a castle was built there by the crusading knights of the Teutonic Order. But there is also the new and modern Tallinn that exists next to the ancient. It's an interesting combination that constitutes the charme and beauty of the Estonian capital.

Kuressaare is the capital of Saare County (island of Saaremaa). The town has approx. 15,000 inhabitants, and it is a popular Estonian sea side resort. It's a very cute town indeed - I hope, the pictures below will give the right impression.

Tolkuse Raba - Das Tolkuse Moor bei Pärnu

Etwa 30 km südlich von Pärnu befindet sich das Moor Tolkuse Raba. Mit dem Auto leicht zu erreichen - man fahre von Pärnu aus über die Hauptstraße Nr. 4 (Via Baltica) Richtung Riga; der Zugang zum Moor ist links direkt an der Strasse - ein Parklatz ist vorhanden.
